EGNB launches first ever student green award
Fredericton: Enbridge Gas New Brunswick announced a new addition to the 2009 Green Awards, the Student Green Award. The first-ever Student Green Award will recognize a New Brunswick student or student group who has promoted, enhanced, implemented and/or developed an environmental program at their high school, community college, university or community between September 2008 and May 2009. The winner will receive two tickets to the Green Awards ceremony, and a $500 cheque will be awarded to the student or group at the ceremony.
“There are so many young leaders in the province who are doing great things for the environment,” says Dave Charleson, General Manager, Enbridge Gas New Brunswick. “We see the importance of nurturing and encouraging that leadership. The Student Award helps us recognize that hard work and dedication.”
Students are encouraged to visit www.greenawardsnb.com and fill out the nomination form outlining their environmental leadership. The deadline for nominations is May 18, 2009.
The Green Awards recognize institutions, businesses, organizations and individuals across the province for the positive impact they have had on the environment by reducing harmful air emissions from their businesses and households upon conversion to natural gas. The 2009 Green Awards will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at the New BrunswickMuseum in Market Square, Saint John.
